Jamie Ades joins the Internation Convention Centre Wales from his previous role as Senior Destination Manager for Business Events at VisitBritain. Prior to this, Jamie worked at the Barbican, ExCel London and the QEII Centre. Jamie is also a past Executive Board Member at ICCA.

Jamie comments: “The new ICC Wales has an impressive track record of hosting major events, including the recent International Golf Travel Market, despite only opening in September 2019 and having its launch activity interrupted by the pandemic. I’m delighted to be joining the team and look forward to introducing this state-of-the-art venue and fantastic part of the world to an international audience.”

Danielle Bounds, Sales Director, ICC Wales, comments: “Jamie brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm for the industry, gained from working in some of the UK’s foremost events venues. With his creativity and drive, we look forward to expanding our sales pipeline internationally once again, which is something we were forced to put on hold during the pandemic.

“We’ve already hosted several successful events since re-opening, and the strengthening of our sales team will enable us to reach strategic new markets globally and build on the appetite to get back to meeting face to face.”

The 5,000-capacity ICC Wales is located within the grounds of the Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, South Wales. The new venue launched in September 2019 and pandemic restrictions forced it to close its doors for 18 months before reopening in September 2021.

Jamie Ades will be representing ICC Wales at IBTM World Barcelona on stand F35, from 29 November to 3 December.
