Doha confirmed to host AICR Congress in 2021

The AICR (The International Association for Deputy Managers and Front Office Managers of Luxury Hotels) Qatar Chapter has confirmed Doha will host the organization’s annual congress in 2021. The annual event is expected to gather more than 300 members of the hospitality sector for a four-day program which combines educational content as well as social activities.

Ahmed Kamel, President of AICR Qatar commented, “The hosting of the Congress in Doha comes after years of dedicated planning and lobbying and we are particularly grateful for Qatar Tourism Authority’s guidance and support through the process.” He added, “The Qatar Chapter looks forward to welcoming the delegations from all over the world and have them experience Qatar’s renowned Arabian hospitality first-hand.”

Qatar’s hospitality sector offers the best guest experience in the Gulf region, according to the Olery Guest Experience in the Middle East Report for the years 2016 and 2017. Ahmed Al-Obaidli, Director of Exhibitions at Qatar Tourism Authority commented, “We are pleased to have supported the local AICR chapter and are committed to continue helping them to host a memorable event in 2021.” He added, “This congress presents a great opportunity for us to showcase Qatar’s tourism and hospitality assets.”

AICR is an international organization with representation in 18 countries and 1,200 members. The Qatar Chapter includes more than 45 members from leading four- and five-star hotels and resorts. Over the past three years, the Qatar Chapter has been represented in the AICR’s annual International Receptionist of the Year Competition; this year, Pamela Munzala from the Hilton Doha hopes to grab the title in Zurich, Switzerland.

This year’s AICR International Congress was held in Zurich from 31 January to 4 February. The Congress’s previous hosts include Vienna, Paris and Singapore; the 2019 eition is set to be held in London.
